ABA Therapy is the use of scientifically based principles to improve specific behaviors and decrease behaviors that are harmful or can affect learning. ABA is an effective intervention for children diagnosed with Autism and other developmental delays. ABA can help with language acquisition, attention to tasks, social skills, promoting independence and developing appropriate play skills, while decreasing or eliminating problem behaviors that interfere with the child’s learning. Problem behaviors can include inattention to tasks, tantrums, physical aggression, property destruction and self-injurious behaviors.
Our services are delivered by trained Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). Depending on your child’s needs, our therapists will work one-on-one with your child in the home, school, therapy center or in the community. It is very important that your child’s goals be targeted in other settings to ensure your child is generalizing the skills. Your child will have a customized treatment plan created specifically for their needs and goals. Based on their level of functioning, specific goals will be selected and will be reevaluated as needed or as they master these goals.
In addition, parent training is highly encouraged along with ABA Therapy. Parent training is very effective and will give parents the tools they need to manage daily challenges that may arise.
